Position Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and reliable Per Diem/Part-Time Driver to safely transport students to and from program locations. The ideal candidate will be punctual, safety-conscious, and committed to ensuring a positive experience for our participants.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students to and from designated locations for programs, events, and activities.
- Maintain a timely and reliable transportation schedule.
- Ensure a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Perform basic vehicle safety checks before and after each trip.
- Communicate with staff regarding transportation logistics and any scheduling updates.
- Report any incidents, delays, or vehicle concerns promptly through pre and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness of bus
- Conduct emergency evacuation drills as requested
- Responsible for ensuring vehicles are refueled when the gas gauge reaches ¼ tank.
Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving passenger vehicles (e.g., vans, minibusses) preferred.
- Be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Be able to meet vision requirements
- Be able to perform physical activities like lifting, climbing, and stooping
- Be able to read and follow policies and procedures
- Be able to interact with a diverse student population
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with youth and staff.
- Punctual and dependable with strong communication skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and any required driving screenings.
- Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
Schedule:
- Hours will vary based on program needs (weekdays, evenings, and occasional weekends).
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis.
Compensation:
This is a per diem position with a pay range of $25 - $30 per hour.
