Overview

This is advanced and highly specialized professional fiscal or accounting work. Work involves overseeing and administering Federal Transit Administration funds for the transit agency, as well as, preparation, managing, and controlling the budget for the Transit Department of the City of Huntsville. The position is also responsible for the Transit Department’s compliance with all local City, State, and FTA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities                               

Annual Transit Department Budget for City of Huntsville
Preparation of Grant Applications (occasionally multiple per year)
FTA Quarterly Reports
The National Transit Database (NTD) Report
All FTA Compliance (Rules and Regulations associated with FTA Annual Certifications and Assurances and FTA Triennial Review.)
Compliance with COH Policy & Procedures for all Department transactions

Requirements                                  

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field with major course work in accounting from a college or university
5 Years experience
