Join the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Department of Buses as Assistant Chief Facilities Officer and be an essential part of North America’s largest public transportation organization.  We are hiring a dynamic, experienced professional who has a passion for public service, to help us to fulfill our commitment to keeping New York moving.

This position is accountable for directing and executing the MTA Department of Buses  building and equipment maintenance program, to ensure facilities functions are performed within established standards. To achieve this goal, the Assistant Chief Facilities Officer will direct the activities for the Facilities Division throughout the MTA Department of Buses.  In addition, the ACFO will develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures pertaining to MTA Department of Buses facilities and equipment; and overseeing the day-to-day building and equipment maintenance and operating functions in bus depots and alternative fuel facilities. Additionally, this role will establish and manage the President’s Employee Facilities Rehabilitation program (EFR), implement, and enforce MTA sustainability initiatives and consult directly with Training staff on the development & delivery of training syllabus and programs.

Education & Experience Requirements:

 A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or a related

field and twelve (12) years of full-time related experience, at least five (5) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory capacity or a satisfactory equivalent of the combined education and experience requirements.

  • Knowledge of construction management and engineering principles
  • Basic knowledge of all trade specialties
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • In-depth knowledge of alternative fuels and sustainability initiatives
  • Excellent Supervisory skills
