The Capital Programs & Construction Director oversees all functions and activities of the Capital Programs & Construction Division for SFMTA. The Division Director is responsible for the overall administration of all aspects of capital projects including capital project engineering, project delivery/management, construction management, contract administration, and capital quality assurance functions. This executive management position assumes complete responsibility for the delivery of transit-related programs in the SFMTA Capital Improvement Plan totaling $1.3 billion, including new light rail extensions, complete streets projects, facility upgrades and enhancements, and system overhead wire and rail replacement projects. The incumbent in this position directs the development and implementation of construction policies, goals, and objectives; manages organizational changes; ensures the enforcement of all safety protocols, applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations; and prepares and presents reports to executive management, the SFMTA Board of Directors, and other policy and regulatory bodies.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge and background in transportation infrastructure. They will be able to utilize their expert engineering and construction management skills in partnership with an ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships. This combined skillset will allow the next CP&C Director to build a world-class delivery team that is intentionally operating as a collaborative business partner.
