Valley Metro is seeking a Deputy Chief Bus Maintenance to assist in executing Valley Metro’s mission to connect communities and enhance lives while planning, designing, building and operating a multi-modal transportation system. Position Summary
The Deputy Chief Bus Maintenance reports to the Chief Maintenance Officer (CMO) and holds the responsibility for effectively managing, directing, coordinating, and supervising staff and all activities related to the maintenance of agency vehicles (bus and paratransit services,) support equipment and other assets. The Deputy Chief works in partnership with the Deputy Chief of Bus and Paratransit Operations to strategize, plan, and deliver consistent, reliable, comfortable, and convenient service through staff supervision and effective management of vehicle and facilities maintenance and equipment

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or technical engineering or a related field
A minimum of five years of managerial experience directing, planning and overseeing vehicle fleet maintenance activities and associated programs.
Directly related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Program management experience with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and State Safety Oversight (SSQ) related activities in support of vehicle maintenance for transit and non-revenue fleet vehicles is desirable.
Experience in the management and oversight of transit asset management processes is desirable.
