Responsibilities

Elevate your career at SANDAG: As the Director of Engineering and Construction, you’ll lead transformative initiatives addressing San Diego’s most critical challenges. With $650M of allocated project funding of the total $1.2B 2024FY budget, you’ll oversee the design, engineering, and construction of 120+ major capital projects, including the high-impact Otay Mesa East Port of Entry and the strategic LOSSAN Corridor/Del Mar Bluffs stabilization. As a key player of SANDAG’s visionary team, you’ll collaborate with influential stakeholders like
Caltrans, MTS, NCTD, and more.

Requirements

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or transportation engineering (Master’s degree desirable).
Professional Engineer registration in the State of California.
Eight years of professional engineering and construction experience, including four years in a supervisory capacity.
Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, mega project development, program management, personnel supervision, budget administration, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
