Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of transit services, routes, and schedules.
Thorough working knowledge of computers, hardware, and software programs (specifically CAD/AVL and Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Strong knowledge of applicable transportation-based rules and regulations such as FTA, FMCSA, OSHA, and DOT.
Extensive knowledge in designing and implementing corporate training programs and policies.
Basic knowledge of financial management and budgeting.
Ability to interpret and adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and Company policies and procedures.
Demonstrates professionalism and keeps a positive attitude in the workplace.
Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate training programs.
Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of effective classroom instruction and lesson planning.
Extensive capabilities in training and conveyance of information to various audiences.
Strengths in interpreting and disseminating a variety of training content and criteria in various formats such as presentations, workbooks, lectures, and assessments.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.

Additional/Miscellaneous/Special Requirements:

Must possess, or have the ability to obtain within 120 days, a Virginia, Maryland, or District of Columbia Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and Air-Brake endorsement.
Acceptable background check upon hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
Negative pre-employment drug screen results upon hire and as required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and TMA policy, throughout entirety of employment.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major coursework in education, training and development, safety management, organizational development, business administration or a related field required.
Minimum of seven (7) years of direct experience within the Transportation industry or related with a focus on Operations, Safety, Compliance, and/or Training required.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive supervisory experience required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience facilitating training programs, designing training curriculums, providing instructions or directions to a variety of learners in a professional setting required.
Experience working in a Union environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, ELDT, and FTA requirements and regulations highly preferred.
Relevant certification or training in safety and driver related trainings such as TSI, DOT, CDL, etc. a plus.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree or higher may be considered in lieu of advanced education requirements.
