Hiring Range: $72,966.40 to $102,668.80 annually

The City of Phoenix Public Transit Department is the largest member of the Valley Metro regional transit system and provides a broad spectrum of transit services. These include local commuter bus services to alternative transportation solutions for individuals with disabilities and senior citizens.
The Civil Rights Oversight Section is seeking an innovative self-starting Equal Opportunity Specialist that can multitask in a fast-paced Transit environment. The ideal candidate will have a customer service mindset to interact with grantees, sub-recipients, contractors, and other government agencies, be able to quickly learn the components of monitoring post-grant award subrecipient activities through onsite compliance reviews, have experience with federal regulations as they relate to Civil Rights ADA, Title VI, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and transit.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist Civil Rights Program Manager in researching and responding to all FTA requests related to mandated Triennial Review and other specialized reviews that may include civil rights.
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of written reports to FTA on program and project performance using qualitative analysis and other project management techniques.
• Conduct research and investigations and make recommendations regarding discrimination complaints.
• Assist the Civil Rights Program Manager in updating and maintaining the Title VI, EEO, and DBE monitoring plans.
• Work collaboratively with subrecipients to ensure compliance in all required areas.
