Votran is the public transit system for Volusia County, FL operating in Daytona Beach, Deltona, and 14 other municipalities. The agency is a service of Volusia County and the designated recipient of federal and state grants.
The Finance Director will perform functions in financial operations including grant preparation and reporting, budgeting, procurement, audit, asset management and general accounting, reporting directly to the General Manager. Performs tasks with considerable knowledge of the legal, administrative and procedural regulations related to Votran / County, federal and state grantor agencies. Supervises a staff of eight (8). Works with various database concepts, practices, and procedures. Makes day to day decisions concerning treatment of financial transactions.
Preferred candidate will have: CPA or Bachelor Degree in a related field plus two years of budget or financial related field experience. Working knowledge of government, institution and non-profit budgets, grant programs and contracts. Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations controlling fiscal record keeping. Must be able to make presentations to elected officials and community leaders. Must be able to independently prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs, demonstrated capabilities to manipulate and analyze data with Excel tools including pivot tables, and utilizing technology to produce time sensitive documents and publication quality reports.
