The Transit Grants Assistant position supports the Transit program with general grant accounting, grants management, and administrative tasks in support of numerous grant applications, awards, and process. The Transit Grants Assistant will also assist with numerous City programs. This flexible position is part-time and shall average 15 to 20 hours per week Monday-Friday.
Initial review of applications will begin on Friday, January 20th. The position will remain open until filled.
-Assists with preparing and submitting grant proposals, applications, and supplemental documents for IDOT DOAP Grant, FTA 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Grant, and other grant applications.
-Assists with the maintenance of financial data related to grants management to ensure accuracy and reliability
-Prepares and maintains detailed spreadsheets, databases, and other reports as required.
-Provides organizational and administrative support to transit staff.
-Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, management, planning, statistical analysis, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
-Continued education and/or professional development coursework in transportation field and/or grant management strongly desired.
-Valid driver’s license.
-Progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following areas: grants administration, grant writing, fiscal management, and other functional areas related to this position.
-Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
-Previous experience or ability to gain proficiency with an ERP, document management, Illinois Department of Transportation’s and Federal Transit Administration’s systems, and other grant management and procurement management tools.
