Overview

SUMMARY:

This professional management position reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for developing a strategic method of workforce planning and management, as well as manage all aspects of safety programs for the entire organization with emphasis on the Operations Division and the maintenance division, compliance and employee training for various sections. Work involves directing the investigation and analysis of all Palm Tran accidents; interacting with all levels of employees and external attorneys. This position also performs a variety of complex safety program development, implementation, inspection, coordination, investigation, and evaluation of tasks in the areas of bus, industrial and construction safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in safety, transportation, or a related field; five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in transit safety or transportation operations; which includes two (2) years supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in order to respond to emergency situations and phone calls.

PREFERENCES:

Master’s degree in business or public administration or similar field; experience in vehicle accident investigation and analysis; experience of GPS tracking system and trapeze software; Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
