Orange County Transportation Authority seeks to fill a prominent position — Senior Project Manager of Regional Rail Planning. Join OCTA on its mission to keep Orange County moving. While concurrently managing multiple complex planning projects, the OCTA Senior Project Manager oversees and conducts regional rail planning efforts including preparation of various contract documents, performs technical analyses and interprets data, facilitates problem resolution both internally and with external agencies, and develops funding and budget requests for Board of Directors’ consideration. The qualified candidate will be familiar with principles of railroad planning and engineering; understand trends and practices in federal, state, and local transportation policies; navigate regulations and procedures regarding planning, environmental analysis, and project development; understand modern management theory and organizational development practices; coordinate, communicate, and negotiate regional rail planning activities and issues with various regional transportation agencies, elected officials, and public leaders; and represent the Authority in a professional, positive, and responsible manner. This position requires education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in planning, engineering, public or business administration, social sciences or related field; plus, advanced training in project management and public transportation with a minimum of eight (8) or more years of professional experience in transportation. The candidate possesses the ability to understand rail design criteria and guidelines for rail facilities, and must possess a valid California driver’s license. Depending on qualifications, the Senior Project Manager shall earn between $130,582.40 to $181,376.00 per year. This is an excellent career opportunity with attractive compensation and equal opportunity.
