In 2012, we formed Four Nines Technologies around a shared commitment to provide excellent service to public sector organizations. Our firm and team members are all committed to public transit, and we bring this enthusiasm to each of our projects. Our commitment and drive leads to not only better project results, but also a better project experience for our clients. We have three core practice areas: Fare PolicyFare Collection, and Technology.

We are looking for a self-motivated consultant who is interested in gaining exposure to a variety of fields in public transit. The selected applicant will work closely with all of the Four Nines team members to deliver services to public transit clients. The consultant will work with the Four Nines project manager to create, revise, and deliver the appropriate reports and analyses required by each project. Over time, the consultant will gain experience presenting to our clients. Our staff members are located across the United States and the consultant must have the discipline and temperament to work remotely.


Projects Could Include:

– Fare policy studies to help transit agencies evaluate the fare products they offer to riders, what they charge for these products, and how those decisions impact revenue and ridership

– Technology projects to assist agencies in designing, procuring, and implementing the systems used to operate their services including fare collection systems

– Projects related to data analysis and reporting, business process reviews, performance assessments, and transportation planning

Customer Focused Activities:

– Policy development, including existing condition review and alternative evaluation- Research and analysis- Data analysis and fare modeling

– Report creation and management- Attendance and participation at project meetings with the client(s)

Internally Focused Activities:

– Assist in the creation of proposals for new client projects

– Administrative support for the team

– Industry research and analysis support on areas of interest to the company

– Review of internal processes and procedures for opportunities to streamline or improve them


Knowledge of:

Transit operations, planning, and policy

– Strategic planning

– Data analysis methods and measures

Skills & Abilities:

– Effective communication skills (written and oral) to coordinate with project team, internally and with clients

– Innovative and creative

– Research, peer review, and synthesis-

Analytical, detail oriented, critical thinker

– Capabilities in data analysis and modeling

– Ability to prepare presentations, project documentation, and reports using Google Drive Suite

– Collaborative and interested in helping clients develop solutions

Required Experience:

– 2+ years of experience in transit planning, finance, or related field

– Bachelor Degree in Planning, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
