The City of Yakima needs a Transit Manager with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional customer service for our customers relying upon public transportation within the City of Yakima.
Responsibilities
The Transit Manager is responsible for the supervision and administrative functions of the Transit Division by planning, organizing, directing and supporting the work of the division’s staff. This position is responsible for managing the oversight and management of the short and long-range transit programs and goals of the division.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent and four (4) years of progressively responsible professional public transit experience involving federal and/or state grant programs and regulatory compliance, marketing, budgeting, supervision and transit operations plus two (2) years lead or supervisory experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, transportation or a related discipline is preferred and may substitute for two (2) years general experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATION AND CERTIFICATE
Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License. Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
