Greater Bridgeport Transit (GBT} is seeking a creative, highly motivated individual, to serve as Transportation Planner. The Transportation Planner is responsible for routine monitoring and assessment of the quality and performance of GBT's services. This position will is also develop and implement periodic route and schedule adjustments for GBT's bus system. This includes data collection, analysis and reporting, scheduling, blocking, runcutting, amenity planning, development and maintenance of customer information materials, customer relations, government relations and special projects. This position is also responsible for the management of a wide variety of projects, from inception, planning, procurement, implementation and closeout. This position is responsible for the maintenance, analysis and reporting of data, including reports to the National Transit Database.

This position requires a Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university. The ideal candidate will be a thoughtful, organized and detail oriented. Some experience in service planning, bus and operator scheduling, Intelligent Transportation Systems, data analysis and reporting and project management is preferred. This person will demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with outstanding customer focus. This position requires outstanding written and oral communication skills, the ability to prepare and provide presentations to large, public groups, to attend training, meetings and various outreach activities outside of traditional office hours.

GBT is located in Fairfield County, Connecticut on Long Island Sound. The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
